RG2550
REVIEW

The RG2550 is from the prestige range and features a basswood body, super wizard neck, rosewood fret board and an Edge Pro tremolo system. I put in a full set of DiMarzio Evolutions after about 4 months of owning it. The stock Ibanez/DiMarzio pickups were ok but the RG320 I had at the time needed some replacements quite badly as the standard power sound set was quite dull in comparison. I decided to buy some new ones for the 2550 and use the old ones in the RG320. The result is a brutal sounding tone with an exceptional feel.

The super wizard necks on these prestige models are absolutely amazing to play, much better than the wizard 2 necks. The flat back and super thin profile allows your fingers to glide over the neck with minimal effort. The tremolo system is smooth and accurate but I don't really push it to it's limits. The whole feel of quality oozes out of it, from the electrics to the rosewood grain detail on the fret board. The moment you pick it up the first thing you notice is how light it is and the moment you play it you just don't want to stop. Nothing else is quite the same.

I have recently started migrating all my guitars to Bare Knuckle Pickups
